Anti Wrinkle Creams

You might not realize it but as we get older our skin becomes wounded. In essence this is what a wrinkle is, a wound. You see when we’re younger our skin promotes fast healing of scrapes, cuts and our skin. It’s thanks to cells known as fibroplasts that our skin is able to rejuvenate itself quickly and avoid looking old beyond our age.

What exactly are Fibroplasts?

Well no doubt you’ve heard the term collagen before. It’s the “buzz” word of the anti aging industry for the past decade. Fibroplasts are partially responsible for our skins natural production of collage which just happens to be skins natural building block.

If our quantity of Firboplasts is reduced, then so is our collagen output.

The results, when wrinkles begin to form from damage caused by years of smiling, frowning, laughing, sun exposure and who knows what else in our environment our skin has a difficult time repairing itself. In fact it more or less cannot repair itself.

How do Wrinkle Creams Fix the problem

Well, that’s just it even the best anti wrinkle creams have a tough time fixing the issue with lack of collagen production and fibroplasts. Some products claim they deliver more collagen to your skin with high tech delivery systems, how ever this is usually collagen from fish or animals, not the same as we produce ourselves.

Other creams claim to hide wrinkles just minutes after application. There has been some proof that these so called “lift creams” can improve the appearance of wrinkles and lines temporarily but they must be applied daily or more often to keep the results.

To promote long term results from an anti aging cream you would need to find a product that stimulates the growth of new fibroplasts in order to boost natural collagen production. This would allow your skin to rejuvenate or “heal” itself.

There are a couple of such products on the market, but the jury is still out on whether they produce better results then botox® injections or other less evasive surgical procedures.

What Should you do to Look Younger?

For starters do some research on the different anti aging products and treatments that are available. Yes, it’s true that cosmetic surgery and similar procedures are expensive but they can produce results that lasts up to a decade or longer.

Creams, lotions and gels can be a viable option but I’d suggest being careful of products that must be applied daily. Instead look for a system, or all-in-one cream that will reduce wrinkles and lines on the face and eyes. If it happens to give you an instant lift while it’s at it then no harm done.
